Rules
1. Tournament play is governed by F.I.F.A. laws except where specifically superseded by the following rules:
2. First and second place trophies will be awarded to teams in each U-11 through U-15 division. Each participant will receive a tournament patch. All teams are encouraged to exchange team patches. All U-9 and U-10 teams will receive a participation award only.

All teams must bring one good game ball to each of their scheduled games. HOME TEAM will supply game ball.
6. Substitutions may be made with the permission of the referee at the following times: (a) after any goal, (b) at any goal kick, (c) in case of injury, (d) throw-ins-team in possession, (e) to replace a cautioned player ( 1 for 1). There is No Substitution for an ejected player.
7. Any player or coach who is ejected from a game by the referees will automatically be issued a 1 game penalty, which will be their next scheduled game. Any player ejected for fighting will be deemed ineligible to participate in any game for the remainder of the tournament. 1 point will be deducted from game point totals for any red card (not 2 yellow) issued without exceptions. No appeals will be heard. Any red card issued to a player or coach will be reported to the teams’ club, league and NJYSA.
8. Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their team and fans.
9. Registration: At registration, each team will be required to provide the following:
If a team
is unable to register Friday night, that team must register 1 hour before
their first game at the field where their first game is scheduled.
10. If both teams are wearing the same color jersey, the Home team must be prepared to wear alternate colors. All jerseys shall be numbered on the back. The referee will have final say on player equipment (eyeglasses, casts, piercing, etc.).
11. Referees will be USSF referees. All U-11 through U-15 games and Championship games will have a 3-referee system during play. All other groups (U-9) through U-10) will have 1 referee per game.
12. Inclement Weather And Scheduled Changes: Regardless of weather conditions, coaches and their teams must appear on their designated field ready to play. Failure to appear within ten (10) minutes of the scheduled game time will result in forfeiture. Only the Tournament Director or designee may cancel or postpone a game. In case of severe weather conditions, officials may reduce the length of a game. Should a games progress be terminated due to weather conditions after 20 minutes of play, the game will be considered official and the score will stand. Games starting late due to a delay caused by a participating team or schedule delay, may have time deducted from the game.
13. Teams will be expected to play at the scheduled starting time for each game. If a team has seven (7) players available (the minimum required), play will begin at the scheduled time. A team more that 10 minutes late for a scheduled game will be forced to forfeit that game.
14. Scoring System:
WIN – 3 POINTS
TIE – 1 POINT LOSS – 0 POINTS
Divisions will be divided into groups and subgroups depending on the number of teams accepted into the tournament. In a Division of 6 teams, a Championship game will be played between group winners as scored above. Group winners and second place winners will be decided after each team has played 3 or 4 games as follows: a) most game points; if tied, b) head to head winner; if tied (does not apply if 3 or more teams are tied), c) most bonus points; if tied, d) fewest goals against; if tied, e) penalty kicks according to F.F.F.A. Bonus Points: 1 B.P. will be awarded or goal difference. Maximum of (3) B.P. per game for goal difference. 1 B.P. will be awarded for a shutout win. Bonus Points will be used in tie-breaking system only.
Forfeit: In the event of a forfeit, the final score will be 1-0. (3 points for the win and 2 B.P. – 1 for goal difference, 1 for shutout).
Championship games tied at the end of regulation shall have 1 ten-minute sudden-death overtime period. If the score remains tied at the end of the overtime period, penalty kicks shall be taken according to F.I.F.A. procedures. In all other games, ties will be permitted to stand at the end of regulation time.
All U-9 & U-10 matches that end in a tie will remain. No overtime periods of penalty kicks will be allowed in these brackets.
15. Furthermore, the Tournament Committee’s interpretation of the foregoing rules and regulations shall be final and the Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide on all matters pertaining to the tournament.
16. Upper Township prohibits alcoholic beverages on or near the playing fields. Violation may lead to forfeiture of games.
17. Tournament Cancellations Policy - In the event that the Endless Summer Soccer Tournament must be cancelled (prior to starting) due to weather, field availability etc., The tournament committee will refund each team entered a minimum of 80% of their entry fee by September 1st.
18. Furthermore, the Tournament Committee will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by any teams if the tournament is cancelled in part for any reason.
Only individuals with CURRENT VALID NJ Driver’s License may operate the tournament golf carts!
